Loughton Honey

This honey is from the Buckhurst Hill Loughton border and is on Corporation of London land. The hives have been here for many years and we are delighted to now be supplying The View with honey.

This apiary is in a glade amongst ancient chestnut trees, and very close to an avenue of lime trees which provides a lovely citrus taste. The bees have access to vast tracts of the historic Epping Forest as well as the gardens of north Loughton and Buckhurst Hill. Often a late starter when it comes to collecting honey in the spring, they always catch up when the blackberry comes into flower.
We were lucky enough to photographed by the renowned photographer David Woodfall, and contributed to his wonderful book Rewilding. Another contributor is Judith Adams of the Epping Forest Heritage Trust.
